CUBIC UNITS – TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Acceptance of Quotation

All quoted amounts are based on the information provided at the time of quotation and may vary depending on material choices, design changes, or site conditions.

By making any form of deposit or payment, the Client acknowledges acceptance of all Terms & Conditions and the Warranty Policy. A physical signature is not required.

Quotations remain valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.


2. Payment Terms

Cubic Units uses a tiered payment system depending on project size.

2.1 Small Projects (Below $10,000)

  • 100% full payment is required upon confirmation before work begins.
  • Payment is non-refundable once procurement or works have started.

2.2 Mid to Large Projects ($10,000 and Above)

Progressive Payment Structure:

  • 50% deposit upon project confirmation (non-refundable)
  • 40% upon carpentry installation or major milestone
  • 10% upon practical completion, before touch-up works

2.3 General Payment Rules

  • All payments must be made via bank transfer or PayNow.
  • Practical completion refers to the stage where works are usable and structurally complete, excluding minor touch-ups.
  • Late payments exceeding 7 days may result in work suspension and/or interest charges of 2% per month.

3. Variation Orders & Additional Costs

Any changes requested by the Client involving design, scope, materials, measurements, or site conditions shall be treated as Variation Orders (VOs) and billed separately.

All VOs must be acknowledged and paid before additional works commence.

The Client is responsible for measurement inaccuracies if dimensions were provided without site verification.


4. Materials, Substitutions & Craftsmanship

Cubic Units uses solid plywood for all carpentry works unless otherwise stated.

All swing doors, panels, and drawers will come with 1 mm edgebanding and anti-slam hinges or heavy-duty runners where applicable.

Cubic Units may substitute materials of equal or higher quality if supply shortages occur.

Natural materials such as timber, veneers, and stone may vary in texture, colour, grain, or veining; such variations are not considered defects.

Digital drawings and 3D visuals are artistic representations and may not reflect the exact final product.


5. Site Conditions

The quotation does not include costs related to unforeseen site conditions such as:

  • Concealed piping, wiring, or structural elements
  • Termite damage, water seepage, uneven flooring
  • Non-compliant or outdated electrical or plumbing works

Rectification or additional works required due to unforeseen conditions shall be borne by the Client.


6. Delays & Timeline Adjustments

Cubic Units shall not be liable for delays caused by:

  • Supplier or shipping delays
  • Manpower shortages
  • HDB/BCA regulatory approvals
  • Delays from the Client’s external contractors
  • Force majeure events including weather, illness, or government restrictions

Timeline extensions do not entitle the Client to discounts, compensation, or cancellation.


7. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

  • Provide timely approvals for drawings, materials, and design decisions
  • Ensure site access and availability of electricity, lighting, and water
  • Remove personal belongings from the renovation area
  • Coordinate external vendors to prevent conflicts or delays in schedule

8. Termination

Deposits are strictly non-refundable once materials are purchased or works have begun.

If the Client terminates the project, the Client must pay for all completed works, materials purchased, labour committed, and administrative costs.

Cubic Units reserves the right to terminate the project due to non-payment or breach of contract.


9. Liability

Cubic Units is not liable for:

  • Wear and tear of surfaces, carcasses, paint, cushions, fabrics, or decorative items
  • Damage caused by misuse, improper maintenance, water exposure, or pests
  • Failures caused by third-party contractors engaged by the Client

The maximum liability is capped at the total amount paid by the Client for the project.


CUBIC UNITS – WARRANTY POLICY

1-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty

This warranty covers:

  • Carpentry workmanship
  • Installation of hinges, runners, tracks
  • Structural integrity of built-in carpentry

Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Natural variations in wood, laminate, veneer, or stone
  • Damage from water seepage, moisture, mould, excessive load, or misuse
  • Issues caused by third-party contractors
  • Glass, mirrors, electronics, lighting, and appliances (covered by manufacturer warranties)

Service Process

Warranty claims must include photo or video evidence.

Cubic Units reserves the right to inspect the item to determine eligibility.

On-site inspection or servicing fees may apply for non-warranty issues.

Repairs or replacements will be carried out at Cubic Units’ discretion.
